The Calm before the Storm

No Comments 18 August 2005

The last couple of days have been very quiet, relaxing even. Things have been busy for us up until this week and we have finally slowed down. It feels good. Monica has been resting pretty well, and still doing all the running around that has become part of living our lives in Ithaca. We live about 7 miles from downtown and about 13 miles from the Hospital. Today is Rainy’s last day at Swim Lessons. Maybe, just maybe, those kids are waiting for Rainy to finish what she has started.

Aunt Barbara and Oma Wally plan to be coming up tomorrow sometime. They are going to watch the big kids if labor starts in the next three days or so.

Week 38: The Report

No Comments 16 August 2005

We got there at 8:30 am and we quickly sat down with Dr. Heidi, the
nurse Barbara and Geda, a Cornell Pre Med intern. Dr. Heidi mainly
just wanted a report from us so Monica told everyone how she has been
doing. She had slight contractions all night but they settled this
morning. The babies heart beats are 132 and 138, they switched count
since we checked last week. The babies are already positioned head
down. The baby on the right side of Monica, we’re calling this one Lightning
for now, is the first one in line. The baby on the left, we are
calling this one Thunder, is also ready to go. We all agreed that we
are ready for them to start the process. Now it is their turn.

Side note: Barbara, the nurse, used to live in Missoula, MT and even
more of a coincidence is the fact that she had her first baby with
Dolly Browder, the midwife that we worked with for Rainy. Now that is
just amazing.

Monica was invited to a VBAC meeting at the office tonight at 6:30.
She will practically be a celebrity since she already had a VBAC
(vaginal birth after cesarean) with Torrent, now she is shooting for
a VBAV (vaginal birth after VBAC).

Another OB Visit

No Comments 16 August 2005

We are going to see our OB doctors this morning. Monica did feel some
slight contractions all evening but they have let up this morning. I
think she is getting ready. We’ll give you a report after seeing the
doctors.

Getting Started

No Comments 15 August 2005

Hello there. This is the first day that Monica thought (at one point during the day), that this was going to be it. But then the feeling faded. I’m sure the feeling will come again soon.

We’ve got a little photo gallery for you to see. Take a look at them and leave some comments.
